A Simple Reset: The Cost of Small Adjustments

It Didn’t Look Like Much

It wasn’t one big thing.

No arguments.
No clear problem.
Nothing dramatic.

Just small things.

Trying to make it on time.
Trying to make it right.
Waiting a little longer.
Changing your plan without even thinking.

Nothing unusual.

Tiny adjustments.

So small—

they didn’t even feel like much.

And That’s Why I Didn’t Notice

If it had been one big burden,
I would have stopped.

If it had been obvious,
I would have questioned it.

But it wasn’t.

It was quiet.

It blended into daily life.

Mid-point

The hardest things to notice are the ones
that feel normal.

It Kept Happening

Not once.

But again,
and again.

A little adjustment here.
A small change there.

Waiting.
Preparing just in case.

Nothing big.

But constant.

The Cost Didn’t Show Up Right Away

There wasn’t a moment
when I suddenly felt exhausted.

No clear signal.

But over time—

something changed.

My body felt heavier.

My energy felt lower.

Even simple things
started to feel difficult.

Mid-point

The cost of small adjustments
isn’t immediate.

It accumulates.

I Thought I Was Just Being Considerate

I thought I was helping.

Keeping things smooth.
Avoiding friction.
Making things easier.

And in a way—

I was.

But I didn’t see the other side.

I Was Always Adjusting

Not just when needed.

Not just once.

But constantly.

Without noticing.

Without stopping.

And That Has A Cost

Not loud.

Not visible.

But real.

Mid-point

What you keep adjusting
eventually starts adjusting you.

Until Your Body Tells You

There comes a moment—

when your body slows down.

Not because you decided to rest.

But because
you can’t keep going the same way.

That’s when you notice.

Not the situation—

but yourself inside it.

A Simple Reset

You don’t need to change everything.

You don’t need to fix the situation.

You don’t even need to stop completely.

But—

you can notice.

And maybe,

just for a moment—
stop adjusting.
